I cannot believe it’s Friday again so soon! This week seriously flew by. It seems that each and every week is disappearing even more quickly than the one before. We must be getting near our wedding date, huh? So much still to do, but time is a-flyin’! We did make some progress today, I finally found the perfect fabric combo to make my table runners to tie all of our decor together. Not only did I finally find what I was looking for, but I found it at Joann’s and was savvy enough to bring along some 40% off coupons and Branden. Instead of spending close to $200 on fabric, we got it down to just over $100. SCORE! We took our savings and had a lovely little lunch at our fave joint in the circle, Rutabegorz…yummy! It all totally made up for our failed estate sale outing. We planned our morning with just a couple of local sales, mapped them out and made our way out into the world earlier than on a normal day just to find that the address in question apparently didn’t actually exist. C’est la vie.
Ok, onto the blanks for the week…I’m a little late on the draw, it’s officially Saturday now that it’s past 1am, but you get the idea.
1. One thing I MUST do before I die is return to Europe…this time with Branden. Paris IS for lovers after all : ) Speaking of Paris, I’ve been really missing my second home lately, I would give anything to be able to live there again for any length of time. *sigh*
2. I would rather do all of the cooking than do any of the dishes any day.
3. If I could give my younger self one piece of advice it would be to not spend money that you don’t have. Save, don’t charge. Obvious perhaps, but when you’re young you think you have all the time in the world to pay things off but there’s always something that prevents it. Debt is definitely one of the things I’d change if I could do it all over again…one of the few.
4. If I won the lottery tomorrow, I would pay off said debts, buy a house and add a few non-essentials to our wedding planning to spruce it up a bit beyond our current budget. Maybe a new Prius too. That would be nice. And a house in the French countryside if there’s enough left over. Hey, a girl can dream, right?
5. The best surprise ever was when everyone was so amazingly supportive post-surgery. It’s still so special to me that so many people came just to spend time with me and bring a little of the outside world into my home. Thanks to my friends I really look back on that time fondly instead of just remembering the pain and that’s just special.
6. My biggest fault is procrastination, mainly with school.
7. My biggest strength is that I’m very detail-oriented and a great self-starter. I’m a bit of a perfectionist and I don’t rest until things are just right, but I also know when to say when.
Alright folks, that’s all for today. I have to get a good night’s sleep this evening because I’m shooting my first wedding of the year tomorrow! Woo hoo! I am very much looking forward to it and you’ll all see our hard work very soon. Until then, goodnight and happy Saturday!
And since I’m reminiscing of my lovely Paris this week, here are a few older photos that just plain make me happy. Je t’aime Paris!
